Nadia Shokuri
Community Health Worker - Maternal Care Access Program
Nadia is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 24 years of experience in patient care and healthcare management. In her home country as a Family Physician, she played a key role in training and managing healthcare teams by contributing to various projects focused on supporting underserved populations, particularly mothers and children.
At RISE, she serves as a Community Health Worker for the Afghan community, working to strengthen connections and improve access to prenatal and postnatal care for Afghan refugees. She also advocates for culturally competent doula services, promoting awareness and utilization among families in need.
Fluent in various languages, Nadia ensures that language is never a barrier to care by providing culturally responsive support to the communities she serves.
Nadia speaks Dari, Pashto, English, and Hindi.
