Katharine Barnard MD

Medical Director

Katharine Barnard is a dedicated family physician with over 20 years of experience serving the Worcester community. She joined Worcester RISE in 2023, where she is focused on strengthening the primary care practice within the organization. In her role, Katharine collaborates closely with community health workers, nurses, and behavioral health providers, fostering a team approach to patient care.

Katharine’s passion lies in connecting with families, including children, grandparents, and pregnant individuals, and she takes great joy in delivering babies. Her commitment to ongoing learning and outreach in the community is central to her practice.

Katharine is a graduate of UMASS Medical School and completed her residency at the UMASS-Worcester Family Medicine Residency.

Before her medical career, she studied Latin American studies and taught English as a Second Language.

Dr. Barnard speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
